Editorial Guidelines:
A typical story included in Divine Intervention is a first-person narrative written in simple, dramatic, anecdotal style with a spiritual point that the reader can "take away" and apply to his or her own life. The story may be the writer's own or one written in the first person for someone else. Please observe the following in writing your Divine Intervention story:

Don't try to tell an entire life story in a few pages. Focus on one specific happening in a person's life. The emphasis should be on one individual. Bring in as few people as possible so that the reader's interest stays with the dominant character.
Decide what your spiritual point, or "takeaway," will be. Everything in the story should be tied in with this specific theme.

Don't leave unanswered questions. Give enough facts so that the reader will know what happened. Use description and dialogue to let the reader feel as if he were there, seeing the characters, hearing them talk. Dramatize the situation, conflicts and struggle, and then tell how the person was changed for the better or the problem was solved.

Keep the manuscripts to 750-2500 words Manuscripts sent by mail must be typed, double-spaced and accompanied by a self-addressed, stamped envelope.

Manuscripts and art must be accompanied by the $10 rentry fee or they will not be considered for the contest or for publication.

Please mail your submissions along with the following:

A check for $10 entry fee for each category (postmark by April 30, 2007)

Divine Intervention: Travelers' Tales
Have you experienced a moment in time, far away from home, when you desperately needed Divine Intervention to make it though your journey & suddenly, God intervened? If so, we want to hear your story.Divine intervention shows up in many ways. The following provide examples of the types of true stories that we are looking for. Perhaps you found yourself alone in a hotel room struggling with loneliness and temptation; you utter a brief prayer and suddenly heaven breaks in - a scripture redirects your attention, peace floods your soul, or the phone rings. Tell us what happened next.Or perhaps you found yourself driving along bone-jarring washboard roads in the middle of the vast Australian outback with no houses around for many miles. Suddenly your car breaks down. Scouring the area, you are surprised to find just the right part for your car lying mysteriously by the side of the road in a crocodile-infested area.Tell us your story. Keep it brief, pour out the emotion and lead us in suspense into the remarkable story of how God intervened during your journey.

Divine Intervention: Life-Changing Spiritual Experiences
We are interested in stories of heavenly encounters where you realized that now you know that God knows your name; had encounters where you saw Jesus or heavenly creatures; had near-death experiences, unusual visions, or directional dreams that transformed a situation, etc.

Divine Intervention: Family Encounters with God
If you have experienced a moment in time where you know that you know that God intervened in the life of one of your family members and it impacted everyone, we want to hear your story. Perhaps a child spoke something wise and wonderful that transformed your family. Or someone experienced God in a dramatic way, came to salvation or turned around from a lifestyle that was damaging. Maybe, some prodigal came home after a dramatic God-encounter and was embraced once again into your family. Only you know how your prayers and intercessions have touched a family member or a family member's spiritual experience has touched you. Send us your story!

Divine Intervention: Angels on Assignment
True stories about God's messengers at work in today's world. We are interested in stories of heavenly angels where the narrator has been positively affected in some distinct way. Look for unusual situations beyond stories about illness and car accidents. We are also especially on the lookout for recent stories.
